ExtCafe Editorial and Fact-Checking Policy
Short answer: Every factual claim on the ExtCafe blog should be checkable. We link to the primary source, say when something is our opinion, never promise rankings or AI citations, review anything AI helped draft, and correct mistakes in the open with a dated note.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the ExtCafe blog, the scoring methodology and the product pages on extcafe.com. ExtCafe writes about SEO, AEO, GEO, AI search and browser tools, and also sells tools in that area. Because of that, we hold our own claims to the standard we ask our users to meet.
Our standards
- Primary sources first. We link to the original announcement, documentation or study, such as Google Search Central, OpenAI's crawler docs or the llms.txt proposal, rather than to someone else's summary of it.
- Facts and opinion are kept apart. Confirmed facts are stated plainly with a source. Our recommendations and predictions are written as recommendations ("we suggest", "in our experience").
- Dates stay attached to facts. When we quote a statistic, we say when the study ran. A 2024 figure is not presented as 2026 news.
- No guarantees. We do not claim that any tactic or tool guarantees rankings, traffic, rich results or citations by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google AI Overviews. Nobody controls those outcomes.
- Headlines match the content. A headline must not promise more than the article delivers.
- AI-assisted, human-checked. We use AI tools to help research and draft. Every published factual claim is checked against a source by a person before it goes live, and the named author is responsible for it.
- Our own products are disclosed. When an article mentions SEO AI Assistant, TrackLens or DealFinder, it is clear that ExtCafe makes them. We describe only features that exist in the current release, and we say when a product is not yet available.
- Affiliations are disclosed. DealFinder earns affiliate commissions, and articles that mention it say so. Reviews or posts by partners who work with ExtCafe must state that relationship.
- No fabricated proof. We do not publish invented statistics, fake reviews, made-up testimonials or credentials we do not hold.
How corrections work
If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the article's "Updated" date. For a correction that changes the meaning of a claim, we add a short note at the end of the article saying what changed and when. We do not quietly rewrite history.
To report an error, email aio@extcafe.com with the page address, the claim and, if you can, a source. We aim to review reports within a week.
What happened to Daily Drops?
Daily Drops was an older feed of short, automatically collected headlines. Those entries were not written or checked to this policy, and some had no source link, so we removed it on 10 October 2026. Its old address now redirects to the blog, where our checked articles live.
Who is responsible
The blog is written and maintained by Sachin Natvarlal Parmar, founder and developer of ExtCafe, who builds the extensions it describes. Questions about this policy go to the same address: aio@extcafe.com.
